Please visit for additional photos, information, and a video. This vehicle is available for viewing by appointment only. Please call us to schedule an appointment. 1941 Willys Coupes are extremely popular, especially when they are powered by big block V8 engines and loaded with options. This example does a great job of combining classy looks with raw power and drivability.
Let's start with the exterior of this high-end fiberglass bodied build. It is painted in a stunning and classy two-tone paint job that takes elegance to a whole new level. The paint is pearl and absolutely glistens in the sunlight. The two colors are broken up by a pinstripe that carries into the door jambs and under the hood. Pictures do not do this car justice!
The initial impression of timeless class and style is quickly replaced with curiosity when you see the polished intake peeking out of the hood! That intake is bolted to dual 4-barrel carburetors on top of a 454 CID big block that has been bored to a 468 cubic inch monster! That engine is built with dual Holley 4-barrels on an Edelbrock tunnel ran intake, aluminum valve covers with "Willys" etched on them, serpentine belt system, braided lines, and an aluminum radiator with electric fan to keep it all cool. Full-length headers run to dual exhaust with glass packs for that classic hot rod sound!
The big V8 is mated to a stout Turbo 400 automatic transmission and then heads out back to a custom built narrowed rear end to fit those wide back tires! Underneath the car is clean and ready to show with the frame, rear end, front end, and suspension components carrying the same peach color as the exterior. A Mustang II front end makes this car handle like a dream and 4-wheel disc brakes bring it to a stop in hurry! A driveshaft loop and 4-link setup on the rear end keep it planted and added security. A frame mounted master cylinder keeps the engine bay show ready and polished tubular control arms add to the show quality of the vehicle and ride quality. Adjustable coil over shocks on all four corners and rack and pinion steering means just about anyone can be comfortable driving this street rod. The e-brake is a driveshaft brake and the underside features a chrome oil pan, paint matched transmission and transmission pan, braided lines, and chrome transmission inspection cover.
Slip on into the interior and you are greeted by leather bucket seats. You will notice the piping on the seats brings in the exterior color. They thought of everything when building this custom '41 Willys! The comfortable seats have you facing a Budnik steering wheel on polished tilt column. The AM/FM/CD/XM flip out radio allows you to crank out your favorite tunes while heading to the local cruise or car show. Classic Industries gauges are, as the name says, classic and timeless and look great in any build. A B&M Quick Silver Shifter is a nice touch along with power windows, and power driver's seat.
Other features include LED taillights, frenched license plate, frenched antenna, factory style hood trim (Rarely seen on a fiberglass car), and custom hood openings and side vents that allow cool air into the engine compartment and look pretty mean doing it! If you're in the market for a cool custom built big block Willys, check out the more than 100 photos on our site, and the video!
